Pop star Robbie Williams refuses to make another EMI album

Robbie WilliamsPop singer Robbie Williams says he has no intention of making another album for his label EMI.

Although Robbie Williams is still signed to EMI, he is said to be unhappy after the label was taken over by the private equity firm Terra Firma, it has been revealed in The Times newspaper.

Robbie Williams’ manager Tim Clark said that Robbie Williams would not record a new album because he had no idea how the label would deal with it if he did, and he explained: “The question is, should Robbie deliver the new album he is due to release to EMI? We have to say the answer is no.”

Tim Clark added: “EMI can sue or pay up his contract.”

Robbie Williams had signed a four-album deal with EMI back in 2002, which was said to be worth £80m.

Other stars have also been unhappy with EMI as their label and Radiohead and ex-Beatle, Sir Paul McCartney have already left it.
