Visiting Paris is a wonderful experience and when you are there, you have to get into the great café scene in the city that everyone one enjoys. With the good weather, all Parisians love to sit in their favourite cafés. If you are planning a trip to the capital then here are a few of the top cafés to go to and watch the world go by.
Cafe de Flore
Situated on Boulevard St Germain, this is one of the most popular cafés in Paris. Famous French writers have made this place a favourite haunt for decades and although the prices are a little steep, it is well worth sitting down for an evening drink to take in the wonderful atmosphere of the area.
Au Petit Fer a Cheval
This lovely café is situated in the lovely area of Paris called The Marais, which just happens to be the oldest part of the capital. This is a nice friendly café in a very cosmopolitan area of the city. You’ll discover Au Petit Fer a Cheval on Rue Vieille du Temple opposite a great bookshop called La Belle Hortense.

Le Select
Situated on Montparnasse, Le Select is a great location and it is well worth sitting out on the terrace in the sunshine to people watch, the best pass time in Paris. This is a very authentic café where you’ll find students and business men meeting up to discuss life and hold meetings. This is a very fashionable place, so the prices are a little high, but you can be sure of a wonderful time as you sit and sip on a coffee or maybe a pastis.
Cafe Charbon
Place de la Bastille attracts many tourists every summer and the Cafe Charbon does a thriving trade. It’s situated on Rue Oberkampf. This is a lovely place to go in the day when it is nice and quiet, but then at night the place really livens up. This is the number one people-watching spot in Paris.

Pause Cafe
Another wonderful café near La Bastille, this is a vibrant establishment you’ll find on the Rue de Charonne. If you want a great breakfast, Pause Cafe serves up some of the best croissants in town. It’s a very fashionable cafe in a really cool area of Paris.
It is impossible to anything at speed when you are visiting Paris, sitting down in a fashionable café is one of the typically nice things to do in the capital. People-watching is taken very seriously in Paris, so it is great to join in the fun and the cafés mentioned above will certainly give you the opportunity of doing just that.
