I think this is a disgraceful example of the neo-liberal agenda in the EU. I am for a European Union that guards our heritage seeds, that promotes the growing of them, and that actively seeks biodiversity in growing. My husband and I have a domestic garden in Cork City, Ireland, and depend on heritage seeds being made available to us for our organic growing of food.

This should be fought tooth and nail. The corporations and governments within Europe, and, indeed, anywhere else around the world, should not control what we eat. We are in control.

In Ireland, the Irish Seedsavers Association offers membership, and members then donate money in exchange for the seeds. This is a wonderful way to organise seed-saving, and provides members with information and feedback on all aspects of organic growing.

Shame on all our MEPs in the EU.
