Kate Moss gold statue entitled Siren for British MuseumA solid gold statue entitled Siren, of supermodel Kate Moss, is going on display in the British Museum in an exhibition called Statuephilia this autumn.
Marc Quinn created the 50kg sculpture, valued at £1.5m, and he is also famous for the marble sculpture known as Alison Lapper Pregnant, which had been on show in Trafalgar Square for 20 months.

Former James Bond actor George Lazenby denies assaultAustralian actor George Lazenby has denied claims that he assaulted his first wife Christina Master and that he was an alcoholic who had abused his partner when they were married.
The allegations against the former James Bond star, who played the secret agent in the 1969 film On Her Majesty's Secret Service, were detailed in papers filed in a Los Angeles court.

Despite reports claiming that 26-year-old Spears had been approached to perform next month and was considering this, her manager Larry Rudolph has announced that she will not be performing as part of the show.

French President Nicolas Sarkozy announces Syria tripFrench President Nicolas Sarkozy will soon be travelling to Syria on 3-4 September with the aim of improving relations between France and the country he is visiting.
President Sarkozy explained that he intended for the "necessary dialogue" to take place between himself and Syrian leaders in Damascus.
