French police detain two suspects in immigrant camp rape caseFrench police have held two men for questioning with regard to the recent rape of a Canadian student at an illegal immigrants’ camp near Calais.
The suspects are an Afghan and an Iranian, and the victim is a 31-year-old Canadian student based in Britain.

French President Nicolas Sarkozy holds peace talks in SyriaPresident Nicolas Sarkozy of France, who is on a two-day visit to Syria, is meeting the country’s leader, as well as those of Turkey and Qatar to hold peace talks on the Middle East situation.
President Sarkozy has travelled to Damascus and is hoping to improve the relationship between his country and Syria, and he has also offered to support direct talks between Syria and Israel.

The amateur footage was taken by an American naval officer who had been given an invitation to the film set following Monroe’s visit to his base in San Diego.
