Post subject: 3 months summer work in France |
|
|
Hi all,
Hope someone can help. I need to find some summer work in France (May-August) as I need to do so in order to qualify as a teacher. However, now my non french-speaking boyfriend wants to come with me. Will it be possible to obtain jobs for 3 months? we both have work experience in hotels and shops but we will do anything!!! What region would be the best to find summer jobs? Should we just go and see if we can get jobs when we get there?
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks! |

Hi Milesc and welcome to our forum. Does your college not have contacts in France? I also had to do a 6 month 'stage' as part of my degree and the university arranged it.
Anyway, I searched on Google.fr for "offres de stage" and there are lots of websites with lists of vacancies. Here are a few:
directetudiant.com
jobscampus.com
offres-stage.com
Or try looking via temp agencies (agence d'interim):
leaderinterim.com
supplay.fr
I don't have any ideas what a your boyfriend could do as I don't know of any jobs in France that wouldn't need at least a basic knowledge of the language.
Unless you have money to pay rent and deposit and survive for quite a while then I personally wouldn't just go over to France without securing a job.
Good luck and it would be lovely to hear how you get on. |

| If you´re not able to find a proper job like in a hotel or anything (which I think might be difficult unless it´s an internship), I would suggest looking for a short-term job as a nanny. There are always families looking for English-speaking au pairs for the summer. Or you could work as an English tutor or something like that. |
