There are two systems with somewhat different functions which permit people to lawfully employ and simply compensate and declare casual or part-time workers. It is called Cheque Emploi or what we call the “employment cheque”. It consists of CESU and CE-TPE. The CESU (cheque emploi service universal) is for private individuals who employ someone for personal services and the other one which is the CE-TPE (cheque emploi tres petites entreprise) is for employment and payment of staff in any business with a maximum of five employees.
In CESU, an employer must first register with the local branch of URSSAF in the Cheque Emploi Service department. It can be done also by submitting an application at the bank or post office that manages their account. Approval should be given to deduct the social security payments from that account.
In CE-TPE, application should be made at the local CE-TPE centre at URSSAF or at your bank. Documents will be sent and a "cheque book" for salary payments if preferred. |
