Hi to everyone, we are moving to France next spring, we are having a house built at the moment so we pop over every so often to see how it is progressing ( which we are pleased to say is very nicely) we are thinking of having a pool installed and wondered what the law was on it being fenced off. It is for our own use (not a commercial property)
Has anyone got any tips to s hare with us, we haven't decided who is going to install it for us.
We are moving to the Charante area 15 mins from Confolons, would be nice to have your views |

Hi and welcome here
First congratulations for being such courageous coming in France (even if Charentes is a good place for starting).
There're indeed few things to know about swimming pools in France. First, as many things builded, you should get a right to build it if it's concrete (let's say, if it's not a tiny one just set on the ground and that can be set off) ; this right called permis de construire is delivered by officialities.
Secondly, a new law oblige you to protect this pool thanks to barrier or special whater alarm... Well this is done to protect your responsibilities if someone (child) sink in it.
As far as i know, there's nothing else special...
Enjoy in Confolans... _________________ Semper Fidelem |

Hi and welcome to our forum.
Have you spoken to any companies that make/install swimming pools in the area? They will surely be the best people to ask. |
