Hi Tram and welcome to our forum. I don't know how long this forum has been going. Yes it is quiet on here but we have a few regular members who come on now and again and post some interesting things.

Are you in France? Or would you like to live there?

Smile Hey, a new one...
Hi Tram and wellcome.

Like Jenny, let's talk a few about you ? Are you statistician specialized in the age of forums ? Wink

For the frequence of the interventions, it's because of the results in rugdby world cup... Frenchies don't enjoy it too much... Evil or Very Mad

Else, there's another point i wanna know i someone else has read the last HP book. I've finished it last week (in English of course), and... i'm quite disapointed by the three ending chapters. Want to talk about it ?

Hello Jenny et bonjour Marcus,

I guess by the HP book, you are referring to Harry Potter? I have not read any of the books, so I would not be a good person to be answering that question.

I have two homes, one in the UK and one in central France. By choice, I would prefer to live in France, but my work keeps me in England for much of the time. However, I am hoping to take some long breaks in 2008 and spend more time at chez nous.

How about you?

Hi tram

>>I guess by the HP book, you are referring to Harry Potter? I have not read any of the books, so I would not be a good person to be answering that question.

You've well guessed...

So you've two sweet homes ! Lucky man you are... One for job, one for vacations. It might be rather interesting to have one or two weeks breack to come there. Central France ? In countryside so ! Near Limoges ? Or more south east ? I've heard about some villages entirely bought by English in Ardeche.

I specialy have only one home, a tiny flat in Lyon where i work. I'm still not that young now (31), and quite not sure to stay there for ever... In fact, i'm not sure to stay in France at all. My wished location is Aix en Provence... Perhaps you know it ? Nevertheless, it's out of any plan now. My only trip will be to visit friends in south England at the end of November.

May be i'll find that special meal build up with meat coocked with dark beer...

Friendly
Marcus.

Hi Marcus,

Ah, meat cooked with dark beer - lovely! It must be cooked slowly and for a long time.

Do you know, there are three hundred thousand French people living in the London area? That is as many English who live in the whole of France.

I love France and French people. I always get on very well with them.

Your English is much better than my French, so I guess we should keep writing in English!

Hi...

300,000 French are living in London ? Shocked
Increadible ! I've never thought so much. Is there a French subburb ? Or new French food shop opened ?

Thanks for your comments on my English... I'll soon see if you're jocking in my next trip there (at the end of November). But keep in mind that the only aim is to be understood and to manage communication when you practice foreign language.

A bientôt,
Amicalement,

Bonjour Marcus,

Comment allez vous? Le premier weekend en November était un bon weekend pour ma femme et moi - merci! Et vous?

It is early Tuesday morning and I must be brief as I am getting ready to go to the office. I am really looking forward to Friday as we are travelling to France for ten days. Even though we go there a lot, we still get excited about being there and meeting our French friends again.

Best wishes,

Tram

Hi,
I thought the last HP book was far more dark and interesting than all the others.
In fact, I thought the style and content of the first three very 'childlike' and much preferred the films.
I don't know whether J.K.R. got a Ghostwriter in on the last two or had serious creative writing lessons but the style is quite different!
Although, my son found the last book quite unsettling and too dark (he's 11).

@Tram :
Oops... Sorry Tram, i didn't see your answear.

Have good trip in France, and enjoy yourself there. Unfortunatly, forcasts aren't very good (very cold). But, it's reason to taste Beaujolais nouveau (i dislike personaly) and may be hot wine too !

Have great vacations...

@Maurice :
Indeed, it was very dark, with kind of smell of WW2 racial discrimination (with torture and even murder). It's obviously adressed to a different reader that the three firsts ones.
But i definitely dislike the way it ends.
