Post subject: Touring Honeymoon suggestions |
|
|
Hello everyone
My partner John and I are planning our honeymoon May 2008 and would like to tour France in our old two seater
We love the countryside and scenery, and places of interest, but will certainly being doing this on a budget
We're hoping for 7 days, starting from Calais
Does anyone have any suggestions for places to visit, and a suggested route?
We'd like to stop every night at a B&B, a variety of town based and country would be great
All suggestions or advice most welcome!

OK so you've answered my question from introductions
There are so many lovely places to visit in France. It would be hard to fit them all in in seven days. I would recommend Lac d'Annecy as one of the prettiest areas I have seen in France (although it was years ago when I went there!). |

Thank you jenny
We have been advised to go to Brittany, but also arrive at Calais and turn left hehe
Got precious little work done today as so many people kept coming up with their holiday photos, now am really confused, may have to move there to seel all!
Where is the place you suggest, is that near Brittany?

Annecy is rather far from Calais (near 8 hour of motorway)...
I recommand St Michel mount (just beetween normandia and Brittany), that you should see. Morlaix, Concarneau, St Malo are truly enjoying. There're also many castles in Normandia (due to constant tense beetween French king, and English one, that had this region.

If you decided to head for Brittany then I suggest you visit La Baule - it's known as the Cannes of the west coast.
I think if you are going for seven days then it would be best just to plan to see one area, otherwise you'll be driving most of the time! |

Hello There,
I suppose it depends how much driving you want to do or if you want to rest a bit and enjoy the french 'way of life' as 7 days goes too quickly!
I think if it were me then I would head down the coast a bit to Le Touquet or Wissant/Wimereaux and then head inland to explore the chateaus of the Loire and/or possibly a visit to Versailles/Paris?
Try Information France for a bit of help on choosing where to go .
Anyway, hope you have a lovely wedding day!
Bye Now. |
