Hi everybody ,
We are approaching retirement & our dream is to retire to somewhere around the Loire/Charente/Lmousin regions. When we do finally take the plunge, it will initially be in a touring caravan, to explore those areas.
Any advice / comments would be most welcome
regards

A great idea, I have been advised to live in the area for a year before buying, to really find out what it's like. _________________ Remember: You don't stop laughing because you grow old, You grow old because you stop laughing! |

Greets Rob,
The thinking behind it is, if we end up buying a place(poss. a fermette), we have somewhere to live if it's not habitable immediately.
regards

Hi Dave and Keri,
We are almost (retirees!) hate the word prefer 'alternate lifestylers'!
My initial advice is don't nominate a region unless your are familiar with the country and/or have a specific reason for deciding on a location in which you wish to settle.
With a touring caravan, take your time and journey around then decide.
As we reach maturity these decisions become far more important than in our younger years.
Good luck. |
