Post subject: Taxation in France |
|
|
Hello
My Husband and I are doing a lot of research in Moving to France which we will do within the next few years. We want to Start up a B & B Business but in the meantime will continue to work in England until such time we have built up a reputable business, so we can then give up our jobs in the UK.
Whilst starting up, our Income will not be that great and I am on the understanding you can earn Euros 5,515 before you are charged any tax. Firstly, do I still have to declare this, and would I be charged some sort of Taxation on this amount being as this will be our own business? I have read many things about the Tax System in France but find it all too confusing and would like some advise please with anyone that can help who has had experience in this matter. Thank you for your help.

You're right on one main thing, rules are enough confusing in France to create many jobs, only to try to understand it...
(1) If you earn money in France, below of 5.000 €(the floor value vary from year to year but i thought it was greater), you won't be charged anythings.
(2) You have to declare it even if you're below that value. You can even get (you should get) some helps for low incomes.
But if you still have a job in UK...
I think they will add your incomes.
I wonder if i helped ? _________________ Semper Fidelem |

| There is a guide to french banking and taxation on the Internet French Property website, there is a section called "IFP guides" if you go there and follow the links you will find some useful information. |
