Post subject: How to Pick a Budget Hotel |

Hi Every Body,
How are you all? In today's economy, sticking to the budget is becoming an ever increasing challenge. When it comes to travel, finding deals and cutting corners seems to be a permanent part of planning. This applies to business as well as leisure travel. Unfortunately, looking for travel bargains can be extremely time consuming and frustrating. Is there a way to simplify the process?
First, I try to focus on my specific needs and then I choose the hotel. Let's say I'm traveling to Missoula, Montana. I would choose my budget hotel based on the following five questions.
1. How am I traveling? If I'm flying in I would probably choose a budget hotel close to the Missoula International Airport. Even if I choose to rent a car, I like to stay close to the airport so I'm relaxed about starting and ending the trip. If I'm driving the other questions are more important.
2. Will I be spending most of my time in one area? If the reason for my trip is focused on area, like the University of Montana or a business function I try to stay close to by.
3. Will I be visiting many area's of Missoula? Missoula has been nicked named Playful City USA. If I'm planning on doing several things throughout the area, I draw a circle around my activities and look for a central location.
4. What amenities do I want? Budget does not mean bare bones. I usually don't need everything a hotel could offer, but I usually need a few specifics depending on the trip. If my kids are with me, they like cable in the room. I have to have a wireless connection and if I'm staying for several days I look for some sort of kitchenette or fridge/micro oven set up.
5. What's the best price? I put this at the end of my list. If I end up spending hours in unnecessary travel or I miss my plane, saving a couple bucks doesn't mean much. There are several great budget hotels in Missoula, so I can be selective and still save significantly. I check internet sites for information and ask friends and associates for recommendations.
Best Regards......... |
