As newcomer, allow me to present myself.
Marcus, aka Marc-Antoine. I'm very interessed about what strangers think of France and French (perhaps that's why i'm here) and by chatting in foreign language (of mine).
So accept my appologies for the extra amount of mistakes i will write (and also for those i've already written).
Read you soon...

Hi Marcus and welcome to the forum
France is a great place and I would love to go there again on holiday. I worked in Brittany and have visited Paris (of course!), Nantes and Annecy.
Your English is very good so no need to apologise. This is a great way for you to practice. I wish my French was as good as your English! |

Seems you're a traveller to have visited such cities like Annecy. Were you lucky enough to be there during the lake festival which happen during August ? Did you enjoy the country there ?
You said having a job in brittany, and i wonder ( ) if it was the region near Brest/Nantes/Rennes (which i would have called Britain by myself).
Do you speack French ?
hum ... feel free not to answear, i'm not from police _________________ Semper Fidelem |

I don't mind answering your questions:
I visited Annecy many years ago. It was in summer and we bathed in the lake but I don't remember any festival. I do remember that it was very beautiful though.
I worked in La Baule. Definitely not Britain! Don't they call it the Cannes of the west coast?
Yes I do speak French, or rather I did. I studied French but it has been quite a few years since I last spoke it. |

La Baule ... True, it's called the western cannes but i prefer the original one...
As i've lived in Lille (Nothest of France), Niort (on the west, near La Rochelle), Marseille (south, not far from French riviera), Paris and now Lyon, i must admit mediterranean coast are very enjoying, even for in all-days living.
Don't care for your French, it's like bicycle : it'll be back soon if needed. _________________ Semper Fidelem |
