Sultry Summer Evenings in Paris– three restaurants which are a must

Notre Dame in Paris

Notre Dame in Paris

Everyone knows what a romantic city Paris is. Notre Dame, La Seine, Montmartre, La Tour Eiffel and the grand palace at Versailles as well as the Bois de Boulogne are just a few of the attractions that are known the world over. Paris by day is vibrant, bustling and highly enjoyable, but Paris in the evenings is magnificent.

I have always found that the best time to be in Paris is in July and although it can be a little warm during the daytime, the evenings are simply splendid. To wander through the streets from Place Des Vosges to Place de la Bastille is a very pleasant experience. The beauty of Paris is that you can walk around the centre very easily as it is really quite small and of course you see so much more when you are on foot.

Paris by night

Paris by night

Every time I go to Paris I walk everywhere so that I can discover new things all the time. Little café/restaurants down side streets are my favourite as well as artisanal shops that are not on the tourist list of places to go. This is what makes the discoveries so very special.

Years ago I fell in love with three Parisian restaurants which are today very well known. My birthday treat on one of two occasions was dinner at Le Bofinger. I simply adore this restaurant, the décor, the friendly service and of course the delicious food that is served here. I always indulged myself with their fabulous seafood platter which is a mountain of ice on which crab, prawns, langoustine, shrimps and plenty of different shell fish is placed, making it a truly spectacular platter. All washed down with a very chilled dry white wine. Simply gorgeous.

La Tour d'Argent resturant in Paris

La Tour d'Argent resturant in Paris

I used to stay at Place des Vosges so I came to know many of the restaurants in this area particularly well. La Tour d’Argent is a very classy restaurant that overlooks La Place de la Bastille. If you ever want to treat yourself to one of the most amazing meals you would ever have the pleasure of eating, then I highly recommend this exclusive restaurant. It is not somewhere I could go to very often, but as a special Parisian delight it is definitely worth it.

La Coupole restaurant in Paris

My other favourite restaurant in Paris is La Coupole and again this is because of its lovely décor married to the traditional cuisine that they serve here. Many famous film stars have eaten at La Coupole over the years as well as many artists who would make the restaurant their meeting place.

Of course we all know how good the food is in Paris, so for me it is not just a question of how good the menu is but also the ambiance of the restaurant. I love it when it is just so typically French. Paris is about museums, art galleries and beautiful architecture. It is all about great food and a wonderful lifestyle and for me it is about finding superb places that offer wonderful French cuisine and an atmosphere that is unmistakably Parisian.
