French cuisine is renowned the world over and many people travel to France in order to go on cookery courses which are run by master chefs in some of the most beautiful settings the country has to offer. Learning the art of Haute Cuisine and of course traditional French cuisine, means learning all about the basics of just how food is cooked in France.

Each and every region of France has its’ own specialities, some of which are unique to that particular area, so when choosing where to go and spend a little time either on a specially organised cookery course or a holiday which combines both a leisurely time and some spent learning French cooking skills, is something you need to investigate.

Some of the French cookery courses available are held in the most beautiful settings with Chateaux throughout France opening their doors to people who want to learn about how to prepare traditional and more modern recipes. In the main it is master chefs who run these courses although there are some which are organized in more family like settings.

Salon de Provence is splendid and I have spent very memorable time there.

The Périgord is renowned for their marvellous cuisine and I for one, love to visit the Dordogne just to enjoy the incredible food so traditional to the region. Les Jardins d’ Eriynace has to be high on the list of anyone who is looking to take a French cookery course in the Périgord. The Master Chef himself holds workshops and shows his pupils how to cook delicacies and tradition Périgord cuisine to perfection. This is a wonderful place to visit, spend some holiday time and learn the art of French cooking in one of the most splendid settings in the Dordogne. This particular area is really exquisite and Salignac is steeped in history and has a wonderful heritage.
