Amiens is a city and commune in the north of France, 120 km north of Paris. It is the préfecture (capital city) of the Somme département.

SIGHTS AND ATTRACTIONS
- The Gothic Cathedral of Notre-Dame was erected in the 13th century and is protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is France's largest cathedral and its 42 m-high nave is also a national record. Notre-Dame also features ornate doorways, beautiful stained-glass windows, and stunning, 16th-century choir stalls.
