Rapper Eminem sues Apple for iTunes sales
Controversial rapper Eminem is suing computer company Apple for selling his songs in its iTunes store without getting legal permission and his music publishing company Eight Mile Style has filed an American lawsuit for infringement of copyright by Apple.

However, Apple pays Eminem's label for downloaded music, although publisher Eight Mile Style claim they never approved this arrangement.

Rap star EminemIt has been reported that Apple has made no comment on the lawsuit, which had been filed in the US District Court in Detroit.

Eight Mile Style claim that between 70 and 80 Eminem songs were involved, including those from The Eminem Show, which had been awarded a Grammy, and the company seeks in excess of $75,000 (£36,900) for copyright infringement, unfair competition and a violation of the Michigan consumer protection act.

Joel Martin, a spokesperson for Eight Mile Style, explained: "Apple is not accounting to us. They are accounting to Universal (Music)," and he added that whilst Apple had several times requested permission to use Eminem’s songs, the requests had been turned down.
