In June 2007, People magazine reported the results of a court-ordered DNA test, confirming through Melanie Brown's publicist that Eddie Murphy was the father of her baby daughter.
Melanie Brown’s solicitor, Gloria Allred, said a DNA test had "established paternity, but paternity has not been legally acknowledged."
Melanie Brown, 32, said her daughter Angel needs to know she was "planned and wanted by both of us".
Ms Allred said they have contacted Eddie Murphy's solicitor and indicated that the matter is progressing, however, Eddie Murphy’s spokesman, Arnold Robinson, claimed: "We do not comment on Mr. Murphy's personal life."
