Al Gore’s son Al Gore III arrested for drugs
Former US Vice-President Al Gore’s son Al Gore III has been arrested on suspicion of possessing drugs.

Al Gore III, 24, was stopped by police while driving at 100mph near Los Angeles in California, and marijuana and other prescription drugs, including valium were found during the search of the car. However, Al Gore III was not medically entitled to any of the prescribed substances.

Al Gore’s sonAl Gore III was later released on $20,000 (£10,000) bail and his father has revealed that his son will now be receiving treatment for his drug problem.

"We're glad that he's safe and that he's getting treatment," Al Gore is reported to have said.

This was not the first time Al Gore III had been in trouble with the law over drugs because in 2003 he was arrested for marijuana possession in Maryland, and then again back in 2002 he was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving.
