According to a new survey conducted by the Economist Intelligence Unit, Paris was considered to be one of the most livable cities in the world. 127 cities were given careful attention as far as some important factors such as stability, healthcare, education, infrastructure and many others are concerned. As a result of the research a kind of "quality of life index" was established. It rated from 0 to 100% and the lowest scores indicated the best destinations.

Paris gained 16% as far as livability was concerned which established it as one of the most attractive places, mainly because of the fact that a great number of international companies have a highly developed infrastructure and great accessibility in Paris.
 
Another French city, Lyon came with quite a high score (33%), but unfortunately it lost a lot of points because of a few negative factors that influence the quality of everyday life in the city.
 
That vast majority of the cities which gained the best positions in the survey were situated in Western Europe and North America but the ones from the top of the list are Vancouver (1%), Melbourne (2%) Vienna (2%), Geneva (2%), Zurich (5%) and Perth in Australia (3%).
