Record orders for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows
The public demand for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows has been so high that almost 1.6m copies of the final book in the Harry Potter series by JK Rowling have been pre-ordered online before its release on 21 July.

Amazon who sell the books online say that the seventh Harry Potter book has become its most pre-ordered product ever.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows1.5 million copies were ordered ahead of the release of The Half-Blood Prince so Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows has beaten that demand.

The latest film in the Harry Potter series, The Order of the Phoenix, has its European premiere in London on Tuesday and the movie goes on general release across the globe on 11 July.

Author JK Rowling has been said to be joining the film's stars, including Daniel Radcliffe, Imelda Staunton and Robbie Coltrane, for the launch in Leicester Square, London.

Doctor Who star David Tennant, actor Pierce Brosnan and presenter Graham Norton have also been invited to the special showing.

The world premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was held in Tokyo, where Harry Potter has a huge number of fans.
