
1.5 million copies were ordered ahead of the release of The Half-Blood Prince so Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows has beaten that demand.
The latest film in the Harry Potter series, The Order of the Phoenix, has its European premiere in London on Tuesday and the movie goes on general release across the globe on 11 July.
Author JK Rowling has been said to be joining the film's stars, including Daniel Radcliffe, Imelda Staunton and Robbie Coltrane, for the launch in Leicester Square, London.
Doctor Who star David Tennant, actor Pierce Brosnan and presenter Graham Norton have also been invited to the special showing.
The world premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows was held in Tokyo, where Harry Potter has a huge number of fans.
