Girl group The Spice Girls reunite
The Spice Girls, who once sold more than 55 million records around the world, have announced that they are reuniting for a world tour to take place in December and January.

The Spice Girls have not performed on stage together as the full girl group they once were since Ginger Spice Geri Halliwell decided to leave in May 1998.

Spice Girls reform for world tourGeri Halliwell, also known as Ginger Spice, explained why they have decided to get together again: "I think for us it was about celebrating the past, enjoying each other and it's about our fans. It was the right time."

The 11 Spice Girls concert dates announced so far include a London show on 15 December, eight days after the world tour starts in Los Angeles. The London venue is still to be confirmed and the other European dates are in Cologne and Madrid.

Simon Fuller, whose 19 company masterminded the Spice Girls’ worldwide success more than a decade ago, will be in charge of the new tour.

Emma Bunton, Mel Brown, Mel Chisholm, Victoria Adams and Geri Halliwell all became household names - although they were better known as Baby Spice, Scary Spice, Sporty Spice, Posh Spice and Ginger Spice and were famous for their slogan, “Girl Power!”
