
Starring James McAvoy and Tilda Swinton the first movie of the Narnia series The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe took $744m (£373m) from its global release.
Comparatively unknown actor Ben Barnes plays the lead role in Prince Caspian, which is the second film in the series and is due out next year, and will star again in The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.
Georgie Henley (Lucy) and Skandar Keynes (Edmund) from The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe are also appearing in the film.
Oren Aviv, president of production for Walt Disney Pictures, speaking about Michael Apted and The Voyage of the Dawn Treader is reported to have said: "We think movie-goers are going to be thrilled with this all-new instalment."
And Andrew Adamson, who was director for the first two Narnia films, will be working as a producer for Voyage of the Dawn Treader.
