Weather forecasters say Glastonbury Festival will be wet
This year's Glastonbury Festival, in Pilton, Somerset, at which the Arctic Monkeys, The Killers and The Who will be headline bands, is likely to be very wet and muddy, according to weather forecasters.

Rain is expected before and during the world famous music event, which will be held on the 22nd, 23rd and 24th June 2007.

Glastonbury FestivalHowever, Glastonbury Festival owner, farmer Michael Eavis has improved drainage since the flooding at the last event in 2005, having spent £100,000 on flood relief.

More than 400 tents were flooded after a storm hit the Glastonbury Festival site on the festival's opening day back then and it was reported that a month's rain fell in less than two hours.

Forecasters say that general showers are expected, rather than the torrential downpours of two years ago and past years when the Glastonbury Festival site has been flooded.

The Met Office's Stewart Wortley has been reported to have said that it would be "quite wet" when the music starts on Friday.

Glastonbury Festival prides itself on being an eco-friendly event and this year campers will be given the option of leaving wet tents behind so they can be dried out and passed on for reuse in impoverished countries such as Botswana and Sri Lanka.
