The Australian version of Big Brother criticised
The Australian version of the popular reality TV show Big Brother has been criticised because it failed to notify Emma Cornell that her father had died.

Emma Cornell had lost touch with what is going on in the world outside since she entered the Big Brother house a month ago and still hasn’t been told that her father Raymond died of cancer last week.

Big BrotherHowever, in response to the criticisms against it the Australian Big Brother’s website published a letter from Emma Cornell's brother, Matt, which shows that the possibility of her father dying had been discussed with her before she agreed to enter the house.

Matt Cornell is reported to have said: "Emma was aware of the possibility that our dad's impending death may occur whilst she was in the Big Brother production. "

Chris Hall, a spokesman for the Australian Centre for Grief and Bereavement didn’t think how the issue was being handled was in Emma Cornell’s best interests.

Australian Big Brother has been in trouble before and just last year two male participants were removed from the house after complaints over them appearing to sexually molest a female contestant.
