A judge in the Los Angeles court ruled that Paris Hilton must begin her imprisonment on 5 June and said she has no chance of an early release.
Paris Hilton, 26, apologised and said: "I'm sorry and I did not do it on purpose at all," but the judge didn’t waver and was sticking to the sentence Paris Hilton had been given.
Paris Hilton had claimed she did not know her licence had been suspended when police caught her driving without headlights in February.
Although Paris Hilton made this excuse, court papers said she had signed a document in January acknowledging that she was banned from driving and that this document was found in her car's glove compartment.
Paris Hilton burst into tears when the ruling was announced, and Howard Weitzman, who is one of Paris Hilton's lawyers, said he thought the jail sentence was unfair and that she had been singled out because of whom she is.
If Paris Hilton fails to report to jail on 5 June her sentence will be doubled and she will face 90 days imprisonment.
