JRR Tolkien’s Children of Hurin now on sale
The Lord of the Rings author JRR Tolkien has a new book out entitled The Children of Hurin and yet it is 34 years after the writer died that this work has been published.

The Children of Hurin was completed by his son Christopher Tolkien and is set in a time period before JRR Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings trilogy, which has sold more than 150 million copies worldwide.

JRR TolkienThe Children of Hurin has illustrations by Alan Lee, who also worked on the very successful film series and the artist will be helping at the London book launch.

Christopher Tolkien had already worked on another of his father's unfinished books, The Silmarillion, in 1977, which explains the mythology of Middle-Earth.

Christopher Tolkien had to work from the unfinished manuscripts of his father JRR Tolkien, and concerning The Children of Hurin he commented: "After a long study of the manuscripts, I tried to build a coherent narrative without editorial invention,"
