The Children of Hurin by JRR Tolkien completed by son Christopher
The Children of Hurin, which is an unfinished book by The Lord of the Rings author JRR Tolkien, will be published in April after being finished by the late author's son Christopher Tolkien.

Christopher Tolkien devoted 30 years to working on The Children of Hurin, which JRR Tolkien had started writing in 1918 and then left uncompleted, however, extracts from it have been published before.

JRR TolkienThe Children of Hurin is set in a time before the Lord of the Rings trilogy and has been illustrated by Alan Lee, who won an Oscar for his artwork on The Return Of The King film version of one of JRR Tolkien’s books.

The Children of Hurin will be published on 17 April in the UK, US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, but whilst JRR Tolkien's The Lord of the Rings trilogy has sold more than 50 million copies worldwide, and was adapted for three blockbuster films, there are no plans for a movie version of this book.
