Pax is the Latin for peace and Thien is the Vietnamese word for heaven, but so far Angelina Jolie has had very little peace since she arrived in Vietnam on Wednesday. Photographers and the press have been keen to get coverage of the story of her adoption of Pax Thien.
Angelina Jolie, 31, said she was sorry that Pax Thien Jolie had to be in the media spotlight and was worried about what effect it might have on the child.
Angelina Jolie is reported in Ho Chi Minh City newspaper Phap Luat to have said: "I want to say sorry for bringing this into Pax's life," and to have added that she thought: "Photographs and press coverage will make him upset."
However, Angelina Jolie went on to explain that she would stay at home as much as possible to help Pax Thien get used to his new life.
