Grazia magazine has made an apology to the actress and accepted that Kate Winslet went for medical advice and treatment for a neck problem.
Kate Winslet, who was nominated for best actress at this year's Oscars, had been reported to have attended the Chinese Healing Institute in Santa Monica, California.
A statement issued by Grazia magazine said: "We are very happy to set the record straight and sincerely apologise to Kate for the distress caused."
And Kate Winslet is reported to have responded: "I am delighted that this matter has been resolved, and the record set straight. I am not a hypocrite."
