Last year, Robbie Williams talked openly about suffering depression in a BBC documentary on bipolar disorder and in an interview he admitted taking antidepressants saying that his depression had made him "stop going out".
In another televised interview, in 2004, Robbie Williams admitted that he only gave up drugs and alcohol because they made him put on too much weight.
Take That, the band that Robbie Williams shot to fame in, are presently enjoying a very successful comeback with a sell-out UK tour and a hit single and album but Robbie Williams’ latest album, Rudebox, received mixed reviews in Britain and only sold under a million copies in America.
Robbie Williams’ London agent wouldn’t go into details about the singer and only said: "Robbie Williams has today been admitted into a treatment center in America for his dependency on prescription drugs. There will be no further comment on this matter."
