BB King the American blues legend is in hospital

Legendary veteran blues-playing guitarist BB King is in the University of Texas Medical Branch hospital after taking ill with a bout of flu but he is recovering well and is hoping to be discharged very soon.

BB King, 81, had developed a fever and was taken into hospital on Friday, but "He's doing great, he's in good spirits and cracking jokes," Tina France, of King's management company claimed and she added that BB King still hopes to perform at Fort Worth, Texas, this coming Tuesday.

Grammy winner BB King was recently presented with the Presidential Medal of Freedom in a White House ceremony on 15 December.

Last July BB King performed a final gig at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, after playing there for over 20 years, and it is incredible how he has kept performing live despite his age, although he gave up touring outside America last year.
