Brad Pitt's latest film, "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," has been being filmed in New Orleans since last autumn.
Real estate records for the mansion reveal it has been bought for $3.5 million in cash on Jan. 2, although neither Brad Pitt nor Angelina Jolie are named in the deal with Mondo Bongo Trust being listed as the buyer.
How much time Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie and their three children will be spending in their new home is still a matter of press speculation, however, in an appearance at the Golden Globe Awards on Monday, the couple confirmed to Us Weekly they had relocated to New Orleans.
"We love it there," Angelina Jolie said, adding: "The kids are going to go to school there. We're really looking forward to it."
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have helped raise awareness of the New Orleans devastation following Hurricane Katrina and Brad Pitt, who is very interested in architecture, joined forces last year with Global Green USA to sponsor a design competition to rebuild the city with 20 eco-friendly homes in low-income neighbourhoods, which had been hardest hit by the terrible storm.
