Autumn/Winter 2005 fashion trends set after fashion week in Paris
For the autumn/winter season the dominant theme is the 1930s followed by a touch of Edwardian, the 1950s plus a touch of 80s grooming.diortrends2005 The emphasis is on glamour and form hugging styles. Delicate floral dresses are matched up with heavy knits, sheepskins and furs.

Blazer jackets are very popular this season. We find masculine influence and deconstructed tailoring that creates the business look. There are wool jackets with velvet trim. Blazer jackets are close fitting and should be worn with skinny high-waisted flannel pants, which are almost as tight as leggings. This smart urban wear will extend your line with really skinny heels. The military jacket will continue to look good for autumn and winter 2005. The bolero jacket is also here to stay.

Key colours will include: black, purple, gold, rose-petal red, chocolate brown, violet, olive green, plum, orange, leopard, snake and ladder prints. After a very colourful summer we're seeing warmer shades and such colour combinations as black and white or black and red.

FashionTrendsThe waistcoat is back in fashion. This is a versatile item used to layer and work into any look. In this season the most popular are fur vests that will dress up your jeans and give a sophisticated look.

Bohemian style continues its dominance through the fall and winter 2005. Must-haves are cowboy boots with embroidery, knee-length skirts, long necklaces and horse-riding bags.

Fashion in this season is influenced by Russian elements. Satin bloomers, tactile embroideries and furs give us a flavor of the luxury Russian look.

Other key pieces in autumn/winter 2005 include: floral-print tea dresses, roll-neck sweaters, check shirts, tulip-shaped skirts, chunky knits, jacquard knits, satin camisoles and tweed jackets.

Accessories include: 40s-style brooches and 1960s and 1970s jewelry. Long and layered necklaces, colourful, stripy ribbon necklaces, rhinestone bracelet watches, and wooden bangles take center stage in the 2005 autumn/winter fashion trends.

Fabrics that are ‘in' this season are inviting to the touch, consisting of textured velvet, rich suede, warm tweeds and soft faux fur.

Autumn/winter 2005 fashion season is provocative and at the same time very poetic with its voluminous clothes.
