Last year's winner, Chantelle Houghton, was "planted" as a non-celebrity but she managed to become the most popular contestant and went on to marry one of the others in the Celebrity Big Brother group - Samuel Preston, the singer with the boy band The Ordinary Boys – as well as being signed up as a TV presenter.
Channel 4 has given some clues about who we can expect to see, saying that one contestant rates Baywatch - Hasselhoff's former show - as their favourite TV programme, another is an expert fly-fisher, while two others have attended a dance school and a convent respectively.
Another of the Celebrity Big Brother participants is obsessed with Formula 1 motor racing and two of the other celebrities have servants.
