Online videos erode TV watching habits ICM survey finds
The online video boom is starting to erode TV watching time, according to the results of an ICM survey of 2,070 people for the BBC.

43% of British people who watch video from the Internet or on a mobile device at least once a week said they watched less television now and online and mobile viewing is rising with some three quarters of users saying they now watched more than they did a year ago.

However, online video viewers are still in the minority, with only 9% of the population saying they do it regularly.

13% watched occasionally and a further 10% said they expected to start doing so in the coming year, however, two-thirds of the population said they did not watch online videos and were not thinking of doing so in the next 12 months.

The recent success of sites such as YouTube has helped open the door for those who want easy ways to find, watch and share videos on the Internet.
