Microsoft launch Office 2007
Microsoft thinks it will face a challenge convincing consumers to buy its new Office 2007, which includes Word, Excel, Outlook and other tools.

"One of the biggest challenges... is to fight that perception that old versions of software are good enough," Microsoft's Chris Capossela explained.

Office 2007 will be on sale to business on 30 November, the same date new the operating system by Vista is also available.

Many large businesses will have Office 2007 delivered as part of already existing IT contracts, however, smaller business and individual users will need convincing to make the change, and once they have changed, they will then need to master an overhauled user interface, which is designed to give people simpler access to the features of Office.

Microsoft has more than 400 million users of Office in the world, and the company are aiming to re-educate a very large audience, however, more than 40 million people are using OpenOffice.org, which is a free, community-built alternative to Microsoft Office.
