Ex-Beatle Ringo Starr's wife Barbara Bach injured by her horse

Barbar Bach, who is the wife of former-Beatle Ringo Starr, is spending her 60th birthday in hospital after getting injured by a horse at the couple's home in Cranleigh, Surrey.

Barbara Bach, who is also a former James Bond girl, was admitted under her married name, Starkey to the Royal Surrey Hospital in Guildford on Sunday morning and a hospital spokesman said she had a fracture in her right leg following the riding accident with her horse.

Husband Ringo Starr has been by his wife's bedside in the hospital.

The spokesman also said that the operation, which Barbara Bach had on Sunday afternoon, "went very well," and he added: "She had a stable and peaceful night and everything is going well with her recovery.

"Her condition will be assessed today but I don't think she will be discharged."
