The age of 34 is the most costly, an Axa Wealth Management survey says
The age of 34 is considered to be the most costly age, according to a survey by Axa Wealth Management.

On average it was the most expensive year in a person's life, the survey of 1,990 people suggested with an average of £32,441 extra needed.

The biggest expenditures include buying property and home improvements, with weddings, babies and cars also adding to financial worries.

People aged 25 to 43 rated 26 as their most expensive age, while those aged 55 to 64 said it was 43, and the younger group gave money for holidays, honeymoons and cars as reasons, whilst the older group cited property costs, home improvements and helping put their children through university.

Many famous 34-year olds appears to find the age as a time of great change in their lives.

Former soap opera stars such as Sid Owen, Jessie Wallace and Claire Sweeney are extending their careers beyond Albert Square and Brookside Close and Coronation Street's Debra Stephenson is also leaving her role as Frankie Baldwin, not long after blowing out 34 birthday cake candles.

And 34-year-old actors Ben Affleck and Winona Ryder remain among Hollywood's biggest names.
