The show was a special celebration because it took place exactly 100 years after Christian Dior was born. John Galliano and his team prepared an

astonishing spectacle that took the fashion fans to the iron gates of Granville - the childhood home where Mr. Dior had grown up. The show told the whole history of Dior in clothes, from its foundation in the late forties. Theatre and fashion was combined in the show and it proved that John Galliano can make a collection in true Christian Dior's spirit and at the same time bring Haute Couture a very modern meaning.
There were supermodels presenting John Galliano's autumn/winter collection, including Linda Evangelista and Naomi Campbell. In the show John Galliano paid tribute to Christian Dior's well known ‘New Look' as he mixed the past with the cultural essence of Peru as the girls spun their full skirts in a wild tribal dance.
After Christian Dior died in 1957 the Dior firm was successively led by well known designers like Yves Saint Laurent, Marc Bohan, Gianfranco Ferre and John Galliano.
Christian Dior SA is not only an haute couture but also a luxury ready-to-wear fashion and accessories company. The firm operates more than 160 boutiques all over the world.
