"This week an Algerian national known for his hateful statements about our country and brother of a man who is in jail will be expelled. Ten other people, identified for promoting radical Islamist talk will be sent back to their country of origin by the end of August," Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy said.
Mr. Ameuroud's brother, Abderahmane, 27, was sentenced to seven years in prison in May for helping two Tunisians who killed an Afghan commander in 2001. He has been now permanently banned from French territory, because the officials also suspect he was involved in the training of would-be jijhadists in Paris.
After London's 7th of July bombings France has stepped up security measures and decided to crack down on extremists who preach violence in their country. Sarkozy also pledged "zero tolerance" for Muslim leaders who encourage terrorist attacks and said he would strip them of their French nationality.
