The ball for the other 63 games will be black and white for the first time since the 1994 tournament.
For the French World Cup of 1998, the sports giant Adidas produced a
tricolour ball in the national colours and the Korea-Japan tournament
of 2002 had gold and red in the design.
The ball for the final is called Teamgeist Berlin and the black and
white ball, which carries the traditional colours of hosts Germany, has
been branded Teamgeist meaning team spirit.
For each match, there will be sets of 15 balls, with each carrying the
date, the venue, the kick-off time and the names of the teams.
All the balls will be manufactured in Thailand except the 15 for the final, which will be German made.
