Claude Simon - French Nobel Prize winner dies

French novelist Claude Simon, a Nobel Prize winner, died at the age of 91 on 6th July 2005. He was especially known for his experimenting with the "new novel" style of the 1960s, which contributed to the development of literary usage of plot, narration and character.

ClauseSimonSimon was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1985 for the novel Les Georgiques (the Georgics), which covers experiences of the Spanish Civil War. To give some idea of the character of his books one should consider his sparse use of punctuation, mixed chronology and extensive descriptions. In his 20 works he focused mainly on emotional confusions that were caused by memories. His books are known not only in France but worldwide alas in many countries they're difficult to find.
