Hollywood star Dennis Hopper diagnosed with prostate cancer
Hollywood star Dennis Hopper has been diagnosed with prostate cancer it has been reported.

The actor, who came to fame in Easy Rider, is cancelling all forthcoming appearances to concentrate on being treated for the condition.

Dennis HopperSam Maydew, who is Hopper’s manager, explained that his client is having a "special programme" of treatment in California.

73-year-old Hopper had already been taken into hospital in New York earlier on this month when he was found to be suffering from very bad flu-like symptoms and dehydration.

Hopper was due to appear at an exhibition in Australia, entitled Dennis Hopper And The New Hollywood, but he has had to call this off. The exhibition was to be a collection of the actor’s artwork and photography.

Hopper is an accomplished writer, director and artist, as well as a film star, who also starred in Blue Velvet and Apocalypse Now.
