A Prophet, was directed by French film-maker Jacques Audiard, and was one of nine titles that were nominated on the shortlist for the Star of London prize.
A Prophet tells the harrowing story of a young convict's experiences whilst an inmate of a prison. The film already had won the Grand Prize at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival this year.
Actors Hugh Bonneville and David Morrissey, directors Ken Russell and Sir Ridley Scott were special guests present at the festival and pop singer Jarvis Cocker was part of the panel of judges.
