French film A prophet gets London Film Festival award
The prison drama film A Prophet has been honoured with the best film award to be given out by the London Film Festival.

The Star of London prize was given to Tahar Rahim, who has a lead role in the drama, by actress Anjelica Huston.

A ProphetA Prophet, was directed by French film-maker Jacques Audiard, and was one of nine titles that were nominated on the shortlist for the Star of London prize.

A Prophet tells the harrowing story of a young convict's experiences whilst an inmate of a prison. The film already had won the Grand Prize at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival this year.

Actors Hugh Bonneville and David Morrissey, directors Ken Russell and Sir Ridley Scott were special guests present at the festival and pop singer Jarvis Cocker was part of the panel of judges.
