Pop singer Robbie Williams to get a Brits Award
Pop singer Robbie Williams is due to be honoured with the outstanding contribution to music trophy at next year's Brit Awards.

35-year-old Williams, who originally found fame with the boy band Take That, has already earned another 11 Brits awards as a solo artist, including best British male prize four times. He has won more Brit awards than any other star has ever earned.

Robbie WilliamsWilliams received his first Brit award when he was still a part of Take That. The group’s song Could It Be Magic was chosen as the best single in 1993.

Williams left Take That in 1995 and carried on a very impressive solo career in which he found chart success with hits such as Angels and Rock DJ.

Ged Doherty of the Brits committee is reported to have said that it will be "an absolute thrill" to have Robbie Williams at the 30th anniversary of the Brits.
