Some of the rock musicians and famous singers who have registered their support are very annoyed that their music had been played very loudly and used in the torture of prisoners.
REM issued a statement in which the band said: "We have spent the past 30 years supporting causes related to peace and justice. To now learn that some of our friends' music may have been used as part of the torture tactics without their consent or knowledge, is horrific. It's anti-American, period."
Jackson Browne, Roseanne Cash and Billy Bragg are other artists that have also joined the camapaign to close Guantanamo.
