Epad's current but soon to be departing boss, Patrick Devedjian, made the news public, although several left-wing politicians were critical of Sarkozy’s appointment because they do not feel it is fair and that he is only getting this top job because of who his father is.
Mr Devedjian, at the age of 65, has reached the upper limit allowed for the job he has held and so he must retire.
Epad board member Patrick Jarry, who is the communist mayor of nearby Nanterre as well pointed out that Jean Sarkozy getting this top role is a matter of keeping the Sarkozy “clan” doing well, and socialist deputy, Michele Delaunay, condemned the appointment too as an example of a “policy of clans.”
