Singer Avril Lavigne and husband Deryck Whibley split upCanadian pop singer Avril Lavigne and her rock musician husband Deryck Whibley have parted company it has been announced.
24-year-old Lavigne revealed on her website that she and her 29-year-old husband, who is the lead singer of Sum 41, were separating.
 Lavigne and Whibley were both brought up in Ontario, Canada. They began going out together as a couple in early 2004 and then got married in July 2006. Lavigne posted online: "We have been friends since I was 17, started dating when I was 19, and married when I was 21. I admire Deryck and have a great amount of respect for him." The singer has had hits with Sk8er Boi and Complicated amongst other titles, and some songs from her fourth album, scheduled for release in November, have been produced by Whibley.
